Benjamin Ineichen – Mindfulness, Meditation & Science
Benjamin Ineichen, meditation, mindfulness, MBSR, MBSR Bern, meditation teacher, music, piano, consciousness, brain research, medical data science, animal research, animal testing, University of Bern

Hi! I’m Ben. Or Beni, Benjamin, Benji… I respond to most variations.
This website is mostly about music, meditation, minds, consciousness, science, and other things that fascinate me.
The two things that have shaped my life most consistently are music and meditation. I’ve played the piano since childhood, mainly composing and improvising, and I teach meditation and mindfulness, including MBSR courses in Bern.
I’m also a professor of medical data science and brain research at the University of Bern. My research focuses on a question that has bothered me for years: Why do so many findings from animal experiments fail to translate to humans, and how can we do better? And how can we reduce animal testing?
My own research these days is purely vegetarian: we use existing data and computational models. No animals required.
Until he extends the circle of compassion to all living beings, man will not himself find peace
